NEWS
Vocational students - thank you so much for all of your patience and respect yesterday as we navigated through some transportation issues. We really appreciate you going with the flow even though the process was less than ideal. If you are driving to and from vocational please remember you will still need a parking permit application for our parking lot. Mrs. Martin has those in the front office.
For all drivers; the parking lottery will be held in the cafeteria tomorrow at 7 AM.
CLUBS
Cherokees! If you are in High School and interested in joining Student Council this year please pick up a petition form located in Mrs. Leek’s room: B102. Our first meeting is August 25th and anyone is welcome to join us!
Attention Juniors and Seniors interested in high school honor society. If you have a GPA of 3.4 and have been at Morgan this last school year, you may be considered for high school honor society. Please email Mrs. Dippo for the link where all pertinent information can be found.
The documents are due by August 30th to Mrs. Dippo.
SPORTS
There will be a high school baseball call out meeting for boys in grades 9-12 on Monday August 21st after school in Coach Smith’s classroom.
Last night the Boys Middle School baseball team defeated Pierce Middle School 17-5 in 4 innings. It was a great team effort and the boys showed great sportsmanship throughout the game! Great job boys!
The JV girls volleyball team defeated Hanover Central: 25-13, 21-25, & 15-8.
Serenity had 13 assists and 5 aces. Ava had 5 digs & 4 aces. Gianna passed 5 for 5. And Juliana had 4 kills. Great work, ladies!
The MT Girls Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Michigan City for their season opener on Saturday and beat the wolves 3-1. This is the first time the squad has defeated Michigan City since 2009. Leading in aces was JR Macy Grieger and SO Lexi Rippe with 4 a piece. SR Chloe Price led on the outside with 17 kills and 2 solo blocks. JR Maddie Kiefer led with 9 digs and FR Sierra Ricke led with 41 assists.
The team was back on the road Monday at Wheeler where they fell short on a 2-3 loss. Leading with 2 aces was JR Macy Grieger, leading with 19 kills and 1 solo block was SR Chloe Price, leading with 16 digs was JR Maddie Kiefer, and leading with 34 assists was FR Sierra Ricke.
The squad faced off at River Forest on Tuesday with a 3-0 shut out. Leading in kills was SR Chloe Price, leading in digs was JR Maddie Kiefer, and leading in aces was FR Sierra Ricke.
For their home opener Wednesday night, the varsity squad defeated Hanover Central 3-1. Leading in kills was SR Chloe Price with 12, leading in aces was FR Sierra Ricke with 7, leading with 1 block each were FR Braelynn Dudzik, FR Noelle Kiefer, and JR Macy Grieger. Leading in digs was JR Maddy Kiefer with 12 and leading in assists was FR Sierra Ricke with 25.
