The 7th grade boys lost a tough one to Chesterton Middle school last night, falling to 2-3 on the season.  The highlight from the team was Jake Hines who had an impressive defensive showing as well as leading the team with 8 points.  The boys look to rebound on a quick turnaround as they kickoff the PCC competition with a game tonight at home against South Central.

The boy’s 8th grade basketball team moved to 5-0 with their win over a very strong Chesterton team last night. Clayton Atchison led all scoring with 18, followed by Gio Garcia-Torres with 13 and Gavin Lamere dropping in 10. It was an exciting back and forth game with Morgan playing their best basketball in the last 3 minutes and a final score of 43-41.

Last night’s Cherokee Award went to Mercury Pappas due to his strong defense. He made the most of his minutes and changed the momentum when we needed it most. He provided a steal and then tipped the ball on Chesterton’s inbound pass in the final seconds which kept the possession arrow favoring Morgan. Great win against another BIG school “A Team”.

Come out tonight and catch this team in action at home against South Central. Tip-off at 5pm.

The 6th grade boys basketball team lost a close one last night to Washington Township.

Ben led the team, scoring 13 points, including a buzzer beater 3 pointer to end the quarter.

Tyler grabbed 2 loose balls on the ground for key possession changes and played great help side defense.

The 6th graders next game is tomorrow at 4:30 at home.
